FAQ about Products

VFX-WR

  • What is M.E.D.S.?
M.E.D.S. (Motion Energy Distribution System) is the structure that reduces the rotational acceleration energy adopted for the VFX-WR impact absorbing liner. The impact absorbing liner has a dual-layered structure as shown in the drawing. Anchored by the center column, there is the gap between the outer liner and the inner liner (insert liner).

  • Is it possible to remove the insert liner?
No. The insert liner cannot be removed as the center column is glued to the outer liner. Do not peel off the insert liner from the outer liner and insert anything between the insert liner and the outer liner as it may damage the original impact absorbing performance of the helmet.
Also, do not put small objects such as keys and coins inside the helmet. It may be caught in the gap between the insert liner and the outer liner or may drop in the gap.
  • An object gets caught between the insert liner and the outer liner and cannot be removed.
    How can I remove it?
The insert liner cannot be removed as the center column is glued to the outer liner. Please do not forcibly remove the insert liner from the outer liner or insert something between the insert liner and the outer liner to remove it. In this case, please contact our distributor in your country as it may damage the original impact absorption performance of the helmet.
If soil or mud enters to the gap, please drain out with a weak running water. Never use a high-pressure washer or compressed air. Insert liner and outer liner may be damaged.
  • Is it okay if I hang a helmet on a mirror or handle on a motorcycle?
Do not hang the helmet on the handle or mirror of the motorcycle. Especially for the impact absorbing liner of M.E.D.S., the edge of the insert liner is structurally thin, so if there is a force applied to the edge, the liner may break, so never do. Also, do not deliberately press the insert liner.
